Chicago, Illinois
So fortunate to see this dreamy duo perform live at Schubas Tavern in Chicago. Keep Shelly In Athens creates music that will bring you to a different dimension whilst grounded on real life scenarios that might sound familiar to us.
Hailing from Greece (lol, obviously), original members Sarah and RΠЯ began creating dreampop masterpieces in 2010. In 2014, Sarah announced her departure from the band and was soon replaced by another talented vocalist Myrtha.
POTATO TUESDAY ALERT!
Fluid, soft, and calming. That’s how I would simply describe my first audio experience with Keep Shelly In Athens. Have a listen to some of their tracks via Soundcloud. I also uploaded a short video clip during their gig at the end of this post.
With music influences such as Saint Etienne and Air, listeners easily anticipate the unique and the lovely from this experimental band who have now toured North America and Europe. Chicago happens to be one of their stops as 2015 comes to a close.
Their set at the Schubas Tavern was a serene night, with their music keeping us afloat around that dimly lit room. Their musical and vocal magic is something that we would crave for during a long road trip, or whenever we want to hibernate and reflect in our room, away from the chaos of the real world.
