Going to the 7107 International Music Festival was a very FORTUNATE and spontaneous incident. Rom and I were hanging out at a breakfast place the afternoon before the big event when I received a text message from Mitch:
“Gusto mo mag 7107?” (Do you wanna go to 7107?) And I quickly replied, “Oo naman. Haha, why?” (Of course, why?) DUH Yang. The rest is history. (;
Here’s the amazing lineup for the 2-day eargasmic marathon:
We stayed at a house of one of Mitch’s relatives residing in Pampanga, so lodging was a breeze. We also went with her childhood friend Robyn who brought her car, which we transformed into a festival buggy!
Here are some photos and clips of the performances that we captured on Day 1:
We enjoyed dancing to The Asteroids Galaxy Tour’s music on their whole set. See how much fun it was in these clips:
I was also sooooo stoked to watch Nix Damn P and Motherbasss perform live. Motherbasss provided total badass-ery with their solid DJ-drummer combo!
As if we weren’t tired yet, we went all out partying and jumping around when Kid Ink took over the stage.
It was also amazing to have our homegrown bands takeover the stage to give us a dose of great Filipino music. I enjoyed seeing the sets of Techy Romantics and Taken by Cars. And then there was Kjwan. Everyone’s entitled to go nuts when they play.
Another surprise happened when Enzo of Severo joined the stage and jammed with them!
DJ Riddler, Skratchmark, and Alvaro also delivered excellent sets. And of course, the night was capped off with Kaskade’s performance, sealing it with big fireworks.
Day 2 had more people coming in, with Red Hot Chili Peppers headlining the night. We fueled up at Meat Plus for energy that will last us alllllll daaaaaaaaaay.
We came in a little later and were only able to catch the sets from The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus onward. But the festival is packed with amazing acts so there is no way that performances for the rest of the day won’t be enough.
So sweet when he introduced his girlfriend onstage and sang with her. ❤
We all needed a moment of serenity to take in the beauty that is Armi’s voice. UDD’s set is incredible, as always. Another favorite (explosive!) set was brought to us by Kendrick Lamar. He definitely did not disappoint!
By the time Empire of the Sun was getting the crowd bouncing and dancing around, Mitch was able to go to the side of the stage and enjoyed the best view ever. Lol. My phone was sort of dying as well at this point.
When RHCP finally took over the stage, it was one immaculate experience. I have no other words for it.
And there were majestic fireworks again!
