Did you know that the Philippines has some 187 native languages spoken?☺️ I can only speak Tagalog, and how I wish I learned a couple more being born and raised there.🌿 I'm sharing this gem of a trivia because August is actually “Buwan ng Wika” (Filipino Language Month) in the Philippines.🇵🇭⁣

⁣I was listening to the news on my way to the art studio where I work last Wednesday morning and for the past several weeks, temperatures are at 80-90 degrees.🌤 I've been embracing the summer heat even from home. And for the one or two days that I venture outdoors every week, I try to enjoy the scorching heat and take advantage of the open air after being cooped indoors.😌🍃⁣

How were women traditionally perceived from where you are? I’m sharing some snippets from my current private #papercutting commission. Swipe ➡️ for a little #hyperlapse action.🙃 This is one of the most meaningful and exciting work that I’ve done so far. The client wanted a custom papercut artwork depicting a Filipina in a conventional “baro’t saya” outfit, which is mostly familiar with the character “Maria Clara.”🇵🇭 This outfit is almost synonymous to her name. She is the icon of a meek, sheltered, traditional Filipina.⁣
